Seniors lose in c/ship semi-final but scare Keady
30 Jun 2005
The senior side put in a brave performance against the in-form team and hot favourites Keady, but despite their gallant efforts fell to a very strong Keady side that were pushed to their limits. The Nab dominated the first half exchanges with excellent running play from Stephanie McParland, Michelle McGuigan and Olive McGeown while Laura Gribben was dominant in defence and went into the break four points to the good. The Keady team however did a half time reshuffle that brought on county player Michelle Murray and this strengthened the Keady midfield line to assist their second half comeback. The first 15 minutes of the 2nd half saw continued Keady pressure which saw them draw level thanks to a fluke of a goal and equalising long range point. With their tails up Keady went on to add a further seven points to their half time tally wile the Nab notched two points for their efforts. It was a game of 2 halves that saw the experience of the Keady team take their scores more efficiently when in possession, but the Nab team's suported went home in good cheer having witnessed as good a Nab performance as has been seen for some time. Final score: Ballymacnab 2-5 Keady 3-7.
