Keady High School camogs fail in All Ire final
19 Mar 2006

The senior camogs of St Patrick's High School Keady were very unlucky not to have made Saturday past an historic day for the school sporting history book when they fell to Laois team St Fergaels of Rathdowney by a margin of 5 points. St Pat's girls were two points up with 10 minutes to go when Sarah Molloy received a dangerous neck injury which held the game up for some time until an ambulance arrrived. Sarah was taken to hospital but thankfully was released later that evening, sore and bruised but given the all clear. The resumption of the match saw the Laois team forge ahead assisted by a very stong wind and a number of frees which their excellent free takers pointed to leave the final score St Fergeals 2-9 St pat's Keady 2-4.

Hard luck to the girls and management of Keady High School. Your achievements and commitment brought a new level of cameraderie and shared enjoyment across a number of clubs around Keady and while you may have gone down in the final you did so having shown great skill and pride and a new optimism for Armagh Camogie. Keep at it girls, you are certainly good enough, maybe next year you will also be lucky enough.
