Seniors fail at second bite

St Brenda's senior team couldn't follow up their gallant exploits of Wednesday night when meeting Keady in the senior championship replay on Friday night. Keady dominated the exchanges from the start and were well up at half time on a scoreline of 2-6 to 0-1. The Nab fought hard in the second period but were never going to be able to make up for their disastrous first half and Keady added 1-3 to St Brenda's single point. Final score St Brenda's 0-3 Keady 3-8. Again outstanding for St Brenda's was Laura Gribben who was well able to step up the mark again from her exploits of the drawn game. Mairead Short, Louise Loughran, Emma McParland, Olive McGeown and Michelle McGuigan also shone but overall Keady were a side not to be denied and their experience and teamplay saw them on their way. A disappointing result for the girls from St Brenda's who didn't really perform anywhere near their ability on the night but they've taken already one of the three trophies they set out to win this year and there's still one to play for.
