Sadness for St Brenda's as Past Player passes away
09 Jun 2007
It was with great sadness that the camogie fraternity of Ballymacnab received the news on Thursday past of the untimely passing of former St Brenda's player Susan Molloy (nee McArdle).
Susan was a member of the 1986 and 1987 Senior Championship winning teams having joined the Nab in the 1986 season. Whilst not a Nab native, Susan quickly made herself 'one of us' as she fitted in with her quick wit, good humour and great sense of determination to succeed in the maroon and white uniform. Susan was a main player of the team, taking her place in the half forward line and was the taker and maker of many's a score for St Brenda's in an era when defences across the county feared the Nab's strike force. Susan was one of that force in 1986 and 87 and will long be remembered by those who had the priviledge to play alongside her. Our sympathies are extended to Susan’s husband Trevor, to her children Joseph, Bridget, Micheal and Elizabeth, to her parents Mick and Bridget, brothers and sisters and to the wider family circle.
